Radhika’s romance with Sufi music began with Punjabi Sufi mystic Bulleh Shah’s kalaam. It just captured her heart! She has performed Sufi kalaam at several festivals such as the Mumbai Kabir Festival, Kala Ghoda – Make in India Festival, Malwa Kabir Yatra, Rajasthan Kabir Yatra, the World Sacred Spirit Festival at Nagaur, Sama’a Festival of Sufi Music at NCPA Mumbai, the Old World Theatre Festival at India Habitat Centre in Delhi and the Mystic Kalinga Festival in Bhubaneshwar.
Shah Hussain is another Sufi ‘faqeer’ whose poetry she is immersed in. She has composed and sung Shah Hussain’s evocative kalaam in a dance-music collaboration ‘Faqeer Nimaana’. She also performs a musical narrative ‘Malang Faqeer’ where she sings and interprets Shah Hussain’s poetry.
In 2019, Radhika brought out her first Single ‘Ishq Kamaal’ as Singer and Composer. In May 2020, she released her first Music Video ‘AsāN | असां ‘ which she has dedicated to Goonj, an organization working relentlessly towards providing relief to those affected by the Covid pandemic. The AsāN Music Video is serving as a medium to garner contributions for the Rahat Covid 19 campaign of Goonj.
A student of Hindustani Classical music, Radhika is the disciple of Shri Dayal Thakur. She has also received ‘taleem’ from Thumri maestro Smt Dhanashree Pandit Rai and Jaipur-Attrauli veteran Pandita Sudhila Rani Patel.
Radhika is an Akashvani artiste. In 2013, she won the Radio City Super Singer Award. A Post-Graduate from XLRI, Jamshedpur, Radhika worked with Unilever and ANZ Grindlays before moving on to pursue her quest for music.
